Young one is a Korean visual artist working across sculptural painting, installation, and drawing. Her practice grows from walking, collecting, photographing and responding to the places she inhabits. Working with wood, fabric, found materials, and digital fabrication, she combines technological processes with sustained handwork to create tactile images and spatial forms. Through these translations, she explores how places and experiences remain
with us, shift through memory, and take on new physical forms over time. Young one received her BFA in Oriental Painting from Seoul National University and her MFA in Painting from Boston University. Her work has been exhibited at Morgan Lehman Gallery in New York, Boston Cyberarts, CICA Vancouver, and venues in Seoul. In 2026, she was an artist-in-residence at Bunker Projects in Pittsburgh, where she developed a site-responsive installation using locally collected materials. She will participate in the MASS MoCA Studios residency in 2027.
